america scares me
corporate america scares me most
have you ever noticed who is really running this country i live in?corporations.
it's as simple as that.
big business is big money
capitalism is based on making big money
big money funds the politicians and the lawmaking bodies
large and small.
the lawyers make it all happen,
like pimps and dealers,
or thieves trying to fence the goods off a huge heist
they hook up the buyer and the seller
while keeping their cut
and no one is slowing this down.
government treats the common man like an infant
because the common man behaves like a brat
nothing is ever our fault
we make no mistakes
someone else must always pay
for the pain that comes usually with learning
only we never learn.
there are reactionary groups for any given ideal
there are reactionary groups against any given ideal
they lobby and pour money in to the greasy machine
to influence the standards by which we live in their favor.
nevermind that they are fueled by the opinions of few
you are obviously wrong if you are not of a like opinion.
there is preaching of tolerance
but no practice.
there is talk of justice
while the unjust are unpunished.
there is speech-giving and baby-kissing,
promise-making and flag-waving
but nothing to back up the words.
we are an empty, retrogressive society
running a hollow, impersonal country
with no thought for another
unless they make an episode of oprah about them.
and corporations are running it all.
i am in new hire training for a large company
that is the division of a massive company
and it's like kindergarten all over again.
they teach us off the test
and then test us with it.
we can only go as fast as the slowest person in the room
and they ensure even that one will never get fired
for anything less than obvious gross fraud.
this is demeaning and diminishing
well, you can be fired for saying "hell"
but you'll get a raise if you charge the customer every cent you can
and only educate them if they scream.
and boy do they scream.
